Troye Sivan was spotted living his best Melbourne life

A major star was spotted hanging out at a very cool Melbourne event and living their best hipster life.

Aussie pop sensation Troye Sivan was spotted being the ultimate hipster at a local art fair in Melbourne.

Sivan, 28, attempted to keep a low profile among the usual patrons at the 2024 Melbourne Art Fair Vernissage and was also seen at Glenfiddich x Jordan Gogos Pop-Up Bar.

The Grammy nominee was seen browsing through the artwork and chatting away to local vendors.

To the credit of Melbourne, a city clearly full of cool and unbothered people (who probably do not even have milk in their coffees), the singer-songwriter wasn’t being mobbed by fans and just got to hang out in peace.

Instead, he effortlessly blended in, kept it cute and casual in an oversized blue button-up, and was rocking his signature bowl cut.

The Beatles made the haircut famous in the 1960s, then it went through a stage of being considered naff, and now it has been reignited by the hipsters of Melbourne who are very attached to their leather satchel bags and complex coffee orders.

It’s the kind of haircut that was considered so uncool for a period of time that it eventually became ironically very cool.

Sivan has also embraced the look and pulls it off flawlessly. A far cry from the days of 90s mums popping literal bowls on their kids’ heads and pulling out a pair of scissors.

In 2019, Sivan took to Twitter to confess about his haircut and said people didn’t realise he was rocking the bowl cut because his hair is naturally curly.

The Aussie star is currently riding on a high after being nominated at the 2024 Grammys for his dance hit Rush, which went viral in 2023.

When his nomination was announced, he called it a “dream” and thanked his fans for their enduring support.

He didn’t win, but fellow Aussie Kylie Minogue took it out for her smash-hit Padam Padam, which has become one of the biggest songs of her career.

Despite Sivan’s growing stardom and the fact that he can count Lily-Rose Depp and Ariana Grande as friends, he hasn’t abandoned Australia for Hollywood.

Yes, he now appears on Andy Cohen’s talk show and has amassed over 15 million followers, but he hasn’t made a permanent move overseas.

He still primarily resides in Melbourne and has remained a devoted local. Despite his career continuing to rev up, his album Something To Give Each Other was not just a mainstream hit, but it was largely critically acclaimed.

This means that the singer is now more in demand than ever, yet he doesn’t appear keen on relocating permanently.

“Obviously, I’m biased but I really do genuinely believe that Melbourne is the greatest city in the world,” he recently toldHarpers Bazaar.
