US rap megastar Travis Scott stunned Brisbane fans with a surprise appearance at Fortitude Valley’s Eclipse nightclub late Saturday night, following his high-octane concert at Suncorp Stadium.
Young fans had speculated that the rapper might show up to support his tour DJ Chase B and performer Oggizery Los’s sets at the nightclub, but that didn’t stop them from “losing their minds” when he finally arrived, as captured in videos now circulating online.
“Being able to extend Eclipse hospitality to Travis and his entourage will be an experience for the history books,” Luna Group director Trent Redman said.
Scott’s nightclub appearance followed frenzied scenes at Suncorp Stadium, where thousands of his devoted fans created chaos even before the gates opened.
Videos on social media show fans gathering as early as midday, despite the official opening time of 5.30pm, with restless crowds blocking entrances, crowd-surfing, and hurling water bottles.
Inside, with no support act to fill the hours before Scott’s 8.45pm start, some fans turned to impromptu “pits” and brawls for entertainment, drawing attention on TikTok with captions describing the night’s “shenanigans.”
The Brisbane concert was not the first of Scott’s Australian shows to witness intense fan behaviour.
Earlier stops in Melbourne and Sydney saw fans jumping barricades, clashing with security, and, in one case, a fan being knocked out in an altercation in Sydney.
In Melbourne, police were called to manage the crowd after confrontations broke out.
Though no significant injuries were reported in Brisbane, the unruly scenes have sparked renewed scrutiny over safety at Scott’s shows
