Third celebrity revealed on Masked Singer Australia

Another night, another Masked Singer reveal - and this time, it was an award-winning actress who left everyone stunned. WARNING: Spoilers.

A third celebrity was unveiled on Tuesday’s episode of The Masked Singer Australia, with the Thong revealed to be actress Pia Miranda.

The wild moment the Looking For Alibrandi star lifted her mask came after a gutsy performance of Pink’s So What and a singing “duel” against Blowfly.

The former Survivor competitor, who won an AFI Award in 2000, said she’d been trying to hide her stint on the show from her kids so they’d be surprised when the episode aired.

“I used to watch it and think how cool it would be if you could, like, hide it from your kids and then watch it together and then have that little reveal at the end. So when I was practising at home I was trying to sneak away so they didn’t know,” she said, going on to apologise to Lily and James for lying to them.

Tuesday’s episode also saw the Mirrorball - widely tipped by many fans to be former Pussycat Dolls star Melody Thornton - wow the judges with an impressive performance of the Whitney Houston hit I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Also in the episode, the Blowfly (identified by many viewers as Shannon Noll) with a strong rendition of Adele’s Easy On Me, and the Zombie (who some fans are convinced is former Wiggle Emma Watkins) busting out Nelly Furtado’s Maneater.

Sunday’s Masked Singer got the season off to a cracking start, with one of the show’s best-kept secrets revealed when actor Ryan Moloney – aka Toadfish from Neighbours – was unmasked after a surprisingly decent rendition of an Ed Sheeran hit.

There was another surprise the following night, when the Caterpillar was revealed to be Australian swimming legend Lisa Curry.

The Commonwealth Games champ, who lost her daughter in September 2020, revealed after her unmasking that she’d agreed to go on the show to take her mind off things.

“I needed a bit of cheering up, so I just thought, ‘Why not do it?’ Because you only get these opportunities once and you never lose, you only learn,” she said.

Meanwhile, we’ve had our annual guess at who exactly is beneath each of the remaining masks this season - and we’re confident we’ve correctly picked at least five of the contestants’ true identities.
