Filming is underway for a second season of the original Aussie drama, Strife.

The critically acclaimed series starring Asher Keddie proved to be a hit with audiences when it premiered in December last year – and this morning BINGE announced that Season 2 is now in production.

The comedic drama follows Keddie in the role of Evelyn Jones, a magazine editor-turned-creator of a start-up women’s website Eve Life that becomes a leading force in women’s media.

Inspired by Mamamia founder and media mogul Mia Freedman’s real-life memoir Work, Strife, Balance, the series – written by Australian screenwriter Sarah Scheller – also explores the highs and lows of motherhood, careers and romantic relationships and the hilarious moments in-between.

Stream Strife Season 1 now on BINGE, available on Hubbl.

“Sarah Scheller has created so many layers to explore in the journey for this second series,” Keddie said in a statement.

“There’s a beautiful, complex honesty to the writing and I can’t wait to bring viewers inside Evelyn’s experience as she navigates new challenges, ambition, morality, and love.”

Season 2 sees Evelyn feel under siege with the launch of a new rival women’s website, causing her to question her instincts and decisions all while trying to find an investor to keep her company afloat.

Things aren’t much easier on the home front either with her and ex-husband Jon (played by Matt Day) exploring dating other people all while co-parenting their two children.

“We are thrilled to be back in Sydney filming the next chapter of Strife with our exceptional cast and creative team,” said Alison Hurbert-Burns, BINGE’s Commissioner and Executive Producer.

“Season one was a record-breaking hit for BINGE, captivating viewers with its flawed, hilarious, and deeply human characters.

“We can’t wait to continue Evelyn’s story and deliver world-class, premium storytelling

once again to our viewers.”

Keddie is also in the running for the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television at the TV Week Logie Awards on August 18.

Additionally, Strife is in the running for Best Scripted Comedy Program at the awards.
