Controversial MAFS groom Adrian Araouzou has been dealt a massive blow as his best friend reveals a shock update on their friendship.

The best friend of Married At Frist Sight groom Adrian Araouzou is singing a different tune after defending the controversial participant on Monday night’s episode.

To kick off Family and Friends Week, Adrian invited his sisters, twins Elita and Nikola, and best friend Jasmin Weston on the show to have lunch with him and wife Awhina Rutene and her sister, Cleo. But the lunch was far from friendly.

Team Adrian were quick to defend his problematic actions, blaming the couple’s tumultuous relationship on Awhina through a series of snarky comments. And when Cleo piped up about Adrian’s treatment of her sister, a showdown erupted with his loved ones storming out of the Sydney pub.

Now, upon reflection and having watched the season so far, Jasmin – who is a social media influencer and cookbook author with a combined 700k followers on Instagram and TikTok – has issued a public apology to Awhina and Cleo, while also revealing that she and Adrian are no longer friends.

“Over the next couple of nights, you are going to watch me (regretfully) defend Adrian in MAFS,” she began in her apology post shared on Sunday ahead of the episode.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and the things I say during that interaction. it is not at all the best version of myself and I have since reached out to Awhina and Cleo to apologise.”

“As you know, Adrian and I are no longer friends. Watching Adrian argue with Awhina is like having dejavu,” she added, before explaining, “But during the time this was filmed (6 months ago) I was still very much so Adrian’s best friend. I only knew his (warped) version of reality. Not Awhina’s.”

Jasmin explained that she is a “reactive person” and was simply defending Adrian – albeit, blindly – as she thought he was being verbally attacked during the lunch.

Jasmin has since issued an apology on Instagram in which she revealed she and Adrianare no longer friends.

“I can be a reactive person and will always come to my friend’s defence in any situation which is what you will see unfold,’ Jasmin added.

“Now, being on the outside looking in, I can understand exactly how and why Awhina had those feelings toward Adrian.”

The friends previously shared an Instagram account together called Sweeetsundayz, a food page where they would share weekly videos baking. However, that account has since been wiped clean.

As of publication, Adrian still features in one video on Jasmin’s TikTok account.

In the clip, the pair are driving in Adrian’s car as he points out the houses of girls he’s slept with in the past, all while sharing offensive descriptions of them.

In the clip, Adrian uses derogatory language to describe women he has slept with.

But their adventures have since come to an end with Jasmin revealing that her former friend’s “manipulation tactics” was the reason they fell out and she closed down their joint Instagram page.

“Now being on the outside looking in, I can understand exactly how and why Awhina had those feelings towards Adrian, because it was no different to our friendship,” she wrote. “The manipulation tactics are copy and paste. Hence why I ended the friendship and Sweet Sundayz at the end of last year.”

“This is not at all an excuse. I would like to speak my truth before the episode goes live. I wish I sympathised with Awhina more, I wish my rose coloured glasses weren’t on and I am very glad Adrian no longer has a chapter in my life.

“Awhina and Cleo, again, I am sorry for the things I say and Awhina you have my support in this all.”
