UK MAFS groom goes viral for awkward prank

A groom on the UK edition of Married At First Sight has gone viral online for an awkward prank he pulled on his wife at their wedding ceremony.

The series is due to return to UK screens next month, but today British TV station Channel 4 released a teaser of what’s to come – and it appears one bride does not get that fairytale first-look.

Kieran, a 28-year-old mechanic from Newcastle, is hellbent on making quite the first impression, pranking his wife by wearing a false set of teeth at the altar.

In the clip, which has been viewed almost half a million times on X, he pops the gross-looking choppers in his mouth and raises a finger to his lips to let everyone in attendance in on the joke.

His bride Kristina, a 30-year-old dog walker, appears giddy with excitement as she walks down the aisle with her dad, only for her smile to turn into a grimace when she spots her new husband.

“Are you alright, are you OK? What’s your name?” Keiran cheekily asks her through his fake teeth as she struggles to look anywhere but his mouth.

However, in a voiceover her true real feelings are revealed. “These teeth. What the f**k?” she moans.

In another voiceover, Keiran explains his reasoning for the prank, while also second-guessing the joke.

“I think the teeth could make us look a little bit immature. I’m a little bit nervous to see how it goes,” he says.

“This could really end up bad. I just want to know if this girl’s fun.”

Channel 4 will also feature an Aussie MAFS star on screens this year.

It was announced today that last season’s bride Lucinda Light will appear on a new reality show on the British network alongside Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison.

Lucinda and Vicky will host a show tentatively titled The Honesty Box, which sees a group of singles seeking love who are randomly questioned by AI software on their thoughts and feelings.

If busted lying, relationships and connections may be affected and contestants will miss the chance to win a share of the £100,000 ($194,000) prize pot.

“So very excited to announce that I’ve teamed up the divine @vickypattison & @mettlemouse Productions to test whether honest really is the best policy when it comes to finding true love,” Lucinda gushed on Instagram hours ago.

“We’re headed to Trutopia to encourage a whole bunch of gorgeous singles to be their most authentic selves in paradise. Will be a whole lotta fun I reckon and I can’t wait to reveal what my role is.”

Lucinda was part of Season 11 of the MAFS Australia which aired earlier this year. She was paired with Timothy Smith, but the couple split before the final commitment ceremony.
