Block contestant Mimi shares her side of ‘flirting’ scandal

Two married Block contestants were “flirting” during a late-night drinking session: Now, Mimi reveals what really happened.

The Block’s latest scandal continued in Tuesday night’s episode, as contestant Kylie returned to the show, just one episode after dramatically quitting.

Kylie had fled the show – and husband Brad – and returned to their home of Cairns during Monday’s episode, after hearing him “flirt” with fellow contestant Mimi during a late-night drinking session.

Kylie said that she’d overheard her husband tell Mimi he’d “follow her OnlyFans,” and Brad himself admitted he’d crossed a line with some “pretty inappropriate comments”.

In Tuesday’s episode, Mimi shared her account of what had happened – and didn’t quite seem to know what all the fuss was about.

Mimi said she was “comfortable” with what Brad was saying.

“Saturday night, I was at Kylie and Brad’s house, just hanging out drinking. Kylie went to sleep on the deck next to us. I stayed chatting – maybe there were some comments made that came across as flirty. I was personally comfortable with it,” Mimi said.

“It’s unfortunate that Kylie overheard, which led to her leaving, which was not anyone’s intention.”
Mimi’s husband Kristian said he fully supported his wife and wasn’t concerned about the late-night encounter.

“I don’t think Mimi should have any regrets about going out and having a good time. In terms of the comment, if Mimi didn’t feel uncomfortable about what was said, then I’m not going to. It’s not like you were flirting back?” he asked (a question that went unanswered by Mimi, at least on camera).

Brad learns his wife’s on her way back to The Block.

Later on in the episode, host Scott Cam visited Brad, who had been left to continue working on his house without Kylie, to deliver some good news.

“I’ve spoken to Kylie and she’s coming back tomorrow. She’s flying back. She’s still upset, but she’s coming back,” he told Brad.

In preparation for Kylie’s return, Brad made alternative sleeping arrangements: He’d be bunking at fellow contestants Ricky and Haydn’s house to give his wife some space.

And based on her initial re-entry into The Block, it seems that was a wise move. At the end of the episode, Kylie was shown walking on site and immediately rejecting her husband’s peace offering of a coffee.

“If you hand me that I’m going to throw it at you,” she told him.
