Kyle Sandilands takes swing at KIISFM shareholders and news.com.au columnist

Following last week’s brain aneurysm announcement, Kyle Sandilands gets worked up over an abridged list of his recent illnesses. Read the full list here.

Kyle Sandilands reveals doctors found a second aneurysm

An angry Kyle Sandilands has taken a shot at any disgruntled ARN shareholders denying there is anything “to fix” at his KIISFM breakfast radio show which finished eighth in the latest radio ratings in Melbourne.

Sandilands made the comments as his breakfast show co-host Jackie “O” Henderson embarked on a PR offensive on behalf of the duo this week and addressed a commercial radio conference at which she claimed her radio co-host Sandilands was considering buying a house in the southern capital.

“I don’t give a shit (about shareholders),” Sandilands snapped.

“I got my money. End of caring,” he said on KIISFM on Tuesday.

“Here’s a clue. If you’re a shareholder and you don’t like the show, sell your shares. Move on over to BLEEEP BLEEEP where you don’t have to worry about anything.”

Earlier an irate-sounding Sandilands kept the KIISFM breakfast censors busy while responding to a column penned by this writer who last week approached the presenter’s bosses to ask when the shock jock would be taking time off to have surgery on a brain aneurysm.

This followed Sandilands informing his radio audience last week that doctors had told him he needed an “immediate” operation after detecting the aneurysm.

A fired-up Sandilands denied he would be taking “two to eight weeks” off for surgery which might potentially provide a window for radio execs to reboot the breakfast show.

“There’s no two to eight weeks off. There’s no time off for me,” he said, acknowledging the time suggestion “might have come from me in the early days”.

“I’ll die on air before I let this woman win.”

Sandilands further denied the suggestion his ARN radio bosses might intervene to fix the show. This despite ARN’s former content director Duncan Campbell admitting in November there was a move afoot to tone back “graphic sexual content” on the show.

“Let me explain one more time: The bosses have no control whatsoever over what we do on this show. Zero. None. Jackie and I … it starts and ends with what we want to do,” Sandilands added.

“It doesn’t matter if the board show up here with all the shareholders. I put my BLEEEP fellas and ladies. We’re contracted to do whatever we want to do. And if you don’t like it, too bad. There’s no one sneaking around in the background fixing shit, cos there’s nothing to fix.”

Sandilands didn’t spare this writer either, calling your correspondent “an old dolly” who always writes “terrible negative things … Don’t go bleeping this shit out or you censors will have no job,” he shouted after censors again hit the bleep button.

Sandilands, whose radio show dominates the Sydney ratings, called a recent opinion piece by this writer which listed a short history of his recent health battles “a tirade”.

Henderson disagreed, saying the piece was “a rare nice article.”

“Well I read it when I got home and it’s nice if you’re Jackie. Not so nice if you’re me,” Sandilands retorted.

“It listed off every illness I’ve ever had and said Jackie is so wonderful for holding the fort.”

As the list was in fact a short condensed history which failed to record “every illness” Sandilands’ has succumb to, news.com.au today takes the opportunity to provide a more extensive list for the interest of Sandilands’ concerned fans and ARN’s possibly more concerned shareholders.
