Dylan Lewis has broken down in tears on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here as he spoke publicly for the first time about the death of his brother.

The radio host, 48, opened up about the tragedy during a discussion about the charities being supported by this year’s celebrities.

“My brother’s name is Quinn. He’s three years younger than me. Obviously we grew up best friends,” Lewis told his campmates, explaining that his chosen charity was Lifeline.

It means if he wins this season of the show, Lifeline will receive the $100,000 prize money.

“He’s the reason I do music. Had a few mental health issues going on, and 15 years ago, he took his life,” Lewis told the other celebrities.

Lewis went on to urge anyone with any concerns to reach out to the organisation.

“They’re caring, they know what to say, they’re trained. They know what kind of help you need,” he said.

“And if you’re worried about someone, you can call Lifeline, they’ll tell you what to do. They’ll tell you some steps to take.”

An emotional Lewis added that people shouldn’t “second-guess” themselves about asking for help, telling the group: “Grief lasts forever.”

“I’m doing this for Quinny, I’m doing it for all my family and I’m doing it for anyone who’s ever been touched by this,” he told his campmates.

Later, a tearful Lewis spoke about his devastation in the private recording booth.

“I can use this platform to help someone else, not take their life. Because I’m sad every day about my bro,” he said.

On Tuesday, Lewis shared a post on Instagram about his brother, featuring a photo of the pair and a heartbreaking message.

He wrote: “This is me and my beautiful brother, Quinn. I think about him every day and love him every day and wish he was still with us. Every day.”
