Adult fans of Bluey have noticed an interesting detail in episodes of the hit Aussie cartoon.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that in many episodes there are tiny hidden dachshund-like dogs.
Many fans are now obsessed with finding the hidden “easter eggs” and there are Facebook groups dedicated to sharing their locations.
One post, which revealed a very difficult to find “long dog”, amassed an impressive 2700 comments back in August as fans caught onto the trend.
“No idea this was a thing and now I have to find them all,” one commented, with many echoing the same sentiment.
Another post revealed a long dog that was disguised as a piece of pasta in a jar. The post has gained almost 500 comments and 5,500 reactions.
One member of the Facebook group has even put a call-out asking where they can find “a stuffy long dog”.
“I would love to hide one around the house for Christmas instead of elf on the shelf for my kids,” the member wrote.
The show’s background artist, Nick Rees, has confirmed that the hidden pup is an intentional move, with the first Easter egg appearing in episode five of season one.
“All of the background artists took a shine to him, so we started adding him into other backgrounds for the crew to find and enjoy,” he said, with the ABC reporting that the clue was initially intended for the Ludos Studios crew.
“Originally, it was a bit of fun for the crew.
“It was always so funny to have animators come up to you and be like ‘I found long dog!’ while they were working on a scene.”
Rees added that he’s happy fans have joined in on the fun.
“We love that Bluey fans love long dog as much as we do. It feels like a shared little nod once you find him,” he said.
The Bluey website has even given fans the opportunity to hide their own long dogs with a template ready for eager fans to colour in available online.
The show, first airing in 2018, has recently hit its five year milestone.
In celebration, the ABC will be running their own Top 100 episodes on November 19, from 6am.
Fans of the show have until November 6 to vote for their favourite episodes.
