Disgraced former TV personality Andrew O’Keefe was all smiles as he left court on Thursday, where he was slapped with a new charge as he awaits judgment after appealing convictions for domestic violence.
The former Deal or No Deal host appeared before Waverley Local Court on Thursday charged with intimidation and breaching an apprehended violence order.
The court was told an additional charge of entering enclosed lands without lawful excuse had since been laid by police following the alleged incident on July 28.
Police allege the 52-year-old threatened a man at an address in Point Piper shortly before he was stopped while driving and allegedly found in possession of a crack pipe.
The court was told last month Mr O’Keefe allegedly confronted the man “potentially as a matter of jealousy” following a “rekindling” with his former partner.
The prosecutor at the time said O’Keefe had made admissions to having put one foot through the door despite knowing he was “not supposed to be” at the property.
The court was told O’Keefe was found after the alleged intimidation with a crack pipe in his jacket pocket and was drug affected, but he has not been charged with any drug-related offences.
He will return to court next week when his new lawyer, Jahan Kalantar, said he is likely to enter pleas of not guilty pending “fruitful discussions” with the police prosecutor.
It comes as the former Weekend Sunrise host awaits his fate over a high-profile appeal of drug and domestic violence-related convictions handed down in January.
O’Keefe was found guilty and sentenced to a 12-month and three 18-month community corrections orders over the “frightening and degrading” attack.
