Supermodel Barbara Palvin has her fingers crossed ahead of Victoria’s Secret runway return

Hungarian supermodel Barbara Palvin has her fingers crossed for a Victoria’s Secret runway return — but first, the supermodel is making a stop in Sydney. Read why.

Supermodel drops Victoria's Secret hint

She had her wings clipped in 2019 but supermodel Barbara Palvin is hoping to take flight on the Victoria’s Secret runway once again.

The 31-year-old Hungarian beauty, who has modelled since she was scouted on the street at the age of 13, was set to walk the catwalk as one of the lingerie label’s “Angels” in 2019 when the event was cancelled due to a series of controversies and poor ratings.

But Palvin could score the chance to wear a coveted pair of VS wings again, with the prestigious fashion show making a comeback in five days.

While modelling royalty including Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid and Candice Swanpoel are already confirmed for the catwalk in New York City, Palvin is crossing her fingers for a phone call.

“I’m very excited that it’s coming back, but sadly I still don’t know if I’m doing it or not,” she said.

“So fingers crossed and keep praying for me,” she told The Daily Telegraph.

“Any minute they can call me, so I hope I can walk the show again.”

Calling the show’s hiatus “understandable”, Palvin said 2024 was the right time for a comeback.

“(The show’s organisers) went on their own way and now they’re coming back with new power,” she said.

In Australia as Longines newest Ambassador of Elegance, Palvin on Thursday night unveiled the luxury watch-maker’s fifth flagship boutique in the heart of Sydney.

While she celebrated her birthday at Bondi Icebergs as part of her third trip here, self-confessed homebody Palvin said she was keen to fly back to her US home and husband, former Disney child star Dylan Sprouse.

“It’s been a little much to be honest. I’m excited to just be home for maybe more than three days. I miss my husband,” she said.

“I miss just being at my house, I’m a very cosy person.

“I love cooking, watching movies, and going to the farmers’ market, so this is all very different.”
