‘Somebody needs a yacht break!’ Meshel slams Karl over Logies jab

AFTER Karl Stefanovic’s condemnation of Sunrise for not attending the Logies made headlines, Meshel Laurie has slammed him for making a big deal of it in the first place.

AFTER Karl Stefanovic’s condemnation of Sunrise for not attending the Logies made headlines the Today host has received an unlikely smackdown from Meshel Laurie.

The Project host took to Twitter and Instagram to slam Stefanovic for his Logies rant, questioning why he had made a big deal of it in the first place.

“By all means, get cross about people not going to the Logies, Carlos. Nothing else more important going on in the world,” Laurie wrote on her Instagram story. “Somebody needs a yacht break!”

While Laurie sent “love to Carlos and Kochie”, the comedian agreed with the Sunrise host’s opinion of TV’s night of nights.

“I’m with Kochie on the Logies though. they are really boring,” Laurie wrote. “Just like any boring work awards night. But with more wankers from Sydney.”

On Wednesday the Today host slammed his Channel 7 rivals for not attending this year’s Logies in a surprise on air segment.

“I hear our opposition isn’t coming this year, they’re too good to support the local industry — to support their own network colleagues who are lucky enough to be nominated for their hard work. Plain too good,” Stefanovic ranted.

“We don’t want you there anyway. You’re all boring — except for Grant Denyer, I like him.”

It didn’t take long for Sunrise host Sam Armytage and executive producer Michael Pell to hit back on Twitter, while David Koch said there was good reason he skipped the Logies.

“It always clashes with football, which is way more important to me than getting on the grog with a whole bunch of TV people which are unique individuals in their own right,” Kochie told FIVEaa’s David and Will.
