Almost 30,000 music fans are ready to let Robbie Williams entertain them when the Pommy pop superstar hits Sirromet Winery this weekend.

After opening his XXV Australian tour in Sydney on Thursday night, Williams will bring his decades of hits to Mount Cotton for A Day on the Green – well, two days on the green actually, in the biggest concerts Sirromet has ever staged.

Constantly punching above its weight in the music space, Sirromet has seen performances from legends including Elton John, Rod Stewart and Sting, but none has attracted the turnout of Williams, with a total of 28,000 fans expected at two sold-out shows.

The hordes are being warned to plan ahead for travel and are encouraged to catch a bus, with routes including the Brisbane CBD, Garden City, Carindale Shopping Centre, Eight Mile Plains, Capalaba, Springwood, Logan Hyperdome, the Gold Coast, Springfield and Ipswich.

While there is on-site parking, Sirromet director of marketing Debbie MacGillivray said about 3000 bookings had already been made for bus services, with return fares starting from $35.

“This is the biggest crowd we’ve ever had,” she said.

“The shows sold out within a week of going on sale (and) it will certainly be easier to get out via bus. It will make the experience stress-free.”

On-site parking costs $30 and is unlikely to sell out, but patience will be required for the thousands of motorists all trying to leave at the same time.

Concerts at Sirromet have a no umbrella policy, so patrons are advised to pack a poncho, though rain forecast to hit other parts of the southeast is expected to miss Mount Cotton, with only a slight chance of any rain over the two days.

Williams, 49, touched down in Australia on Tuesday ahead of his national tour, his first run of shows Down Under since 2018.
