Brisbane radio host Robin Bailey was noticeably absent from the airwaves on Thursday following a harrowing car mishap.
The freak incident, which unfolded in the confines of her garage, led to a series of unfortunate events including crashing into her son Finn’s car.
Calling into her morning breakfast show, KIIS 97.3FM’s Robin, Terry & Kip, Bailey painted a vivid picture of the chaos.
“I was going for a swim, and I started my car – I will say the handbrake is on,” she said.
A bid to locate a lost necklace turned catastrophic when her foot mistakenly slammed the accelerator, sending her vehicle careening in reverse.
“The car door rips down the whole of Finn’s side of his car. I’m about to cross the road, hit a tree, the car then bounces and then it stops,” she recounted.
Yet, in her signature style, the radio veteran managed to find a silver lining. “There is always an upside; I missed the Mustang. It’s my boys’ dad’s car and it’s been lovingly held by me until they take it off my hands. I missed the $120,000 Toyota Prado that was also parked on the street.”
