Taylor Swift’s dad was the real MVP at the megastar’s Sydney show Friday.

Scott Swift, 71, was filmed in a wholesome encounter with his daughter’s diehard fans at Accor Stadium for the opening night of the Eras Tour.

During Swift’s closing Midnights era set, as Midnight Rain began playing, Scott could be seen at the back of the venue handing out sandwiches and fruit to audience members in a video uploaded to TikTok.

Affectionately dubbed ‘Papa Swift’ by Swifties, Scott was taking around food as he held a lamp over the platter.

Fans flooded the comment section heaping praise on Scott, saying it was clear where Swift got her down-to-earth nature from.

“Papa Swift! You’re awesome! That is why your daughter is a sweet, kind, caring and generous person!,” one wrote.

Another said, “I love the idea that Taylor see these while scrolling in bed and is just like ‘dads being a dad’.”

A third added, “Papa swift making sure all swifties are fed and watered like we’re his own kids.”

It comes after Scott made headlines for his acts of kindness in Melbourne last week.

The day before Swift’s opening show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last Friday, a host of extra tickets were released, most of which were restricted view.

As thrilled fans who got their hands on last-minute tickets took to their seats ahead of the show, Scott casually went around and gave many of them VIP passes.

Australian radio host Jacqui Felgate revealed the sweet story on her Instagram page, sharing a screenshot of a text she received from a friend who knew one of the lucky people Scott picked.

“A good news story out of the MCG,” the message sent to Felgate read.

“My friend and her daughter had the cheap restricted seats from yesterday’s release and rocked up as soon as the gates opened.

“Sat down and Taylor Swift’s dad went around and handed them wristbands and entry into the VIP section – apparently about A$2000 in total value.

“Seriously lucky and how generous and kind is Papa Swift!!!”

It’s clear Scott loves engaging with diehard Swifties.

Elsewhere at the Melbourne shows, Australian YouTubers Emily Hunt and Bonny Rebecca, who run the popular Swift-reviewing Chats and Reacts channel, got the surprise of a lifetime after attending the show on Saturday.

The pair was invited back to watch Swift’s sold-out third performance on the Sunday from the VIP tent, joining the megastar’s closest friends and family.

While there, Scott personally delivered each of the bloggers a handwritten letter from Swift – one of which was posted on X.

The letter read: “Emily, hi! I’m so grateful to you and Bonny for how much you’ve cared about my music, and all the times you’ve referred to it as ‘iconic’ and ‘immaculate’.

“You’ve made me laugh and made me feel understood many times with your reviews. I love your wild joy and enthusiasm. That’s why I do this!

“Have a blast tonight. Sending my love. Taylor. xoxo”

Swift is set to return to the stage on Saturday night, followed by sold-out performances again on Sunday and Monday.
