“Holy s**t. I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
These were Chris Martin’s words after he noticed a canoodling couple scramble to avoid the Coldplay kiss cam during the band’s Wednesday night concert at Gillette Stadium near Boston.
The British rocker unwittingly forecasted the future, and is no doubt waking up to the media storm engulfing his show as it’s since emerged married Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the tech firm’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, were the people in the video.
As the camera zoned in on the cuddling pair, Cabot quickly covered her face and turned in the opposite direction, while Byron ducked behind a barricade.
“Oh, what?” Martin responded to the scenes while onstage.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” he added.
It’s fair to assume it’s not the latter, with Byron and Cabot swiftly identified.
Per the official Astronomer website, the pair work together at the AI and data company valued at an estimated $US1.2 billion.
While it’s not yet been confirmed, reports identify the CEO’s wife as Megan Kerrigan Byron, who deleted her Facebook profile overnight.
Meanwhile, New York Post reports Cabot and her ex-husband, Kenneth Thornby, filed for divorce in 2018 and the split was finalised in 2022.
Coldplay’s official X page, which shared a photo from the concert, was inundated with savage commentary, with one user declaring the show was a “Cheater’s Paradise”, while another dubbed it a “great affair”.
The saga has produced endless fodder across all sections of social media, with July 17, 2025 being coined “the day Coldplay-ed became a verb.”
Suffice to say, Coldplay is trending worldwide on X in the wake of the ordeal.
Cabot was hired in November last year.
At the time of her appointment, Byron gushed about her two decades of HR experience and “exceptional leadership” skills.
Meanwhile, Cabot said her conversations with Byron before her hiring had “energised” her.
Byron and Cabot are yet to comment.
