Hundreds of eager fans line up for days ahead of Billie Eilish’s Sydney concert

In the early hours of Monday morning, an enormous crowd had already formed, with some using camping gear to secure a spot.

Hundreds of eager fans camp out for Billie Eilish

Eager fans have been setting up camp outside Qudos Bank Arena in anticipation for American superstar Billie Eilish’s concert in Sydney, with some lining up as early as Thursday.

Following the first leg of the Hit Me Hard and Soft Australian tour in Brisbane, the Lunch star is set to perform four shows in Sydney, which kicks off on Monday night.

In the early hours of Monday morning, an enormous crowd had already formed, with more than 600 eager fans camping outside the Sydney Olympic Park.

Some had set up tents, blow-up mattresses, camping chairs ahead of the long wait.

The attendees also dressed the part, taking pages from their favourite Grammy Award-winning singer’s book, and rocking oversized hoodies, T-shirts and shorts while they waited for the concert gates to open.

While the concert doors aren’t expected to open until the afternoon, many fans had already put in long hours waiting to ensure a good spot.

Charlie and Maddie travelled from Far North Queensland unrolled their sleeping bags on Sunday evening in anticipation for the event.

“It’s been a lovely experience here, everyone is so kind and welcoming,” Charlie told NewsWire.

Another fan named Liz had travelled from Melbourne. She was all smiles after revealing she’d started camping out on Friday.

One fan went the extra mile by setting up camp on Thursday to make sure she was first in line.

“I’m so excited and nervous and stressed,” she told the Today show.

Another teenager, who began lining up with friends at 5am, had to beg her mum to let her take a day off school just so she could get in line.

Fans Makayla and Phoenix, who had attended another Billie concert and began camping overnight, estimated more than 600 people were lining up.

“Overnight, we’re up to about 600 people,” Phoenix told NewsWire.

“(Staff) have stopped writing numbers on people.”

Others, who may not be in the area at the time or can’t line up themselves, have resorted to other methods to nab a top spot at the show.

Becoming a more popular solution to spending days outside the arena, fans are turning to outsourcing platform like Airtasker to offer money to those willing to stand in the queue for hours on end.

One woman, Prudie, has offered to give a person $150 if they take a spot in the line so she can get close to the stage.

Another fan, Adrianna, is hoping to give $90 to the person who is willing to stand outside the arena so she can get the best views of the concert in the mosh pit.

“I need someone to camp for Billie Eilish from Wednesday till Friday morning,” she wrote online.

Billie Eilish will continue her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour with four shows in Sydney before heading to Melbourne for a further four concerts.
