The Veronicas return to Australia ready to make a comeback as long-awaited new album released

BRISBANE’S favourite sister act has moved back home ahead of a new album as they prepare to make a comeback.

BRISBANE sister act The Veronicas are home and ready to make a comeback.

On the back of a new album, which is due for release as later this year, the girls are getting back to their roots after making the move back to their hometown from their Los Angeles base.

“We miss Brissie when we are gone,” Lisa said

“We are always Brissie girls at heart.”

After two internationally successful albums and a No.1 single, the musical career of sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso stalled after the release of their last record, Hook Me Up, in 2007.

The pair, who had moved the US to fulfil their dreams of becoming music stars, had a disagreement with their record label and the musical releases dried up.

“It was a horrible position to be in for any artist,” Jess said. “People would say to us, ‘What do you do, now that you don’t do music?’.

Now, almost seven years later, the girls are ready to ­release new work, an album rumoured to have a working title that the girls are tight lipped about.

“It has been such a long time coming and it feels right,” Lisa said.

“We are so happy it is through a company we are adore and that have helped us through this.”

Although the pair as still deciding on which tracks will make the long awaited album Jess said they are excited to be delivering for their loyal fans.

The Veronicas will appear tonight at Australia’s First Belvedere BEAT at Black Bird Bar and Grill in Eagle St, Brisbane City.

They said the event, which is open to the public, is a chance for them to celebrate what is to come in 2014.
