With Taylor Swift fever already sweeping through Australia ahead of her arrival, Victorian fans are already able to access an immersive Taylor experience at the Blank Space Cafe.
Nestled in Newtown in South Geelong, the popular Taylor-inspired cafe “Blank Space” is a shrine to all things Swift, from the name to the decor to the menu.
Honouring Swift’s hit song Blank Space, even the coffee cups are printed with her lyrics on them: “I’ve got a blank space baby, and I’ll write your name”, leaving a gap for the customer’s name and coffee order on the cup.
With a video of the cafe attracting more than 1000 likes on TikTok, customers and Swifties alike flooded the comment section, with one woman calling the eatery “heaven”.
“Who else got coffee and still kept the cup?” another person commented.
The menu offers drinks named after songs, including Lavender Haze and the Cruel Summer Spritz, as well as a big mural of Taylor wearing sunglasses stretching over one of the walls in the cafe.
Head chef and owner of Blank Space Josh Armstrong specialises in New York-style cuisine, adding a further nod to Taylor’s song “Welcome to New York” for customers as they enter.
Taylor Swift will perform five shows in Australia in February, with two shows in Melbourne on February 16 and 17 and three shows in Sydney from February 23-25.
All concerts have sold out, with thousands of hopeful Swifties waiting on Tixel to snap up a resold ticket.
