ATTENTION Kylie Minogue; Robbie Williams requests the pleasure of your company on his next record.
The cheeky British ‘Pop Star’ — as he describes himself, with the self-imposed quote marks — wants to repeat the success of their 2000 smash hit Kids for his new record due out in late 2016.
Williams is kicking off the Australian leg of his Let Me Entertain You tour in Perth on Friday and is keen to reconnect not only with Minogue but another duet partner, Nicole Kidman, and Australian songwriter team Flynn Francis and Tim Metcalfe.
“The Kylie duet might not come off and that would be very embrassing now that I’ve said too much already,” he said.
“Maybe I used up that token of the duet thing. I’ve got this great tune that’s incredibly camp and I would love her to sing on it with me. Maybe she will, maybe she won’t, watch this space.”

CONCERNS: Robbie fears Miley Cyrus bound for rehab
Williams is back in Sydney just a year after his Swing tour in response to fan demand to hear him play all the hits including Better Man, Angels, Rock DJ and Supreme.
Wearing a bright blue Versace suit and Christian Louboutin spiky loafers to match, the 41-year-old star has embraced fashion as a vice after his battles with drug and alcohol addiction landed him in rehab and out of the music business for three years after his 2006 world tour.
“I think it's got bolder. I am taking a leaf out of Elton John and Rod Stewart’s book,” he said.
“In the past I thought ‘Who do I think I am by wearing that?’ but now I have my big boy pants on so they might as well be Versace and Louboutins.”
The demands of pop stardom have also forced him to quit sugar, red meat, pasta and bread.
Williams may joke about his “fat days” but he clearly struggles with the same weight issues as your average human, just on a bigger stage.
“I am professional, I’ve got to do this shit and I’m a ‘pop star’, so for me to go out there and not feel ashamed, then I have to look at a certain way,” he said.
“And I’m a bit of a dancer, I move on stage and I need to be lithe. Or at least more lithe than I have been.”
There are three more pressing reasons for the former hellraiser to keep himself fit and healthy — his wife Ayda, daughter Teddy and son Charlie.
Williams said they are the reason he wants to keep going and remains ambitious to reclaim the pop summit.
“Ayda and the kids have made everything make sense. In the past, there was no reason to it, no substance to it,” he said.
“I got to the top of the hill and realised it’s not real, ended up in rehab a few times and f. ked up and f. ked over and none of it made any sense.
“Then Ayda turned up and the kids turned up and I’m a working dad and I love my job, I want to keep it.”
These days his competition on the airwaves and at the box office are the new British male pop stars Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
Williams said he was pleased to note both men were handling their phenomenal success “like a king” compared to his fall into the fame pit.
“You can normally see the frayed bits and coming undone and they don’t look like they are. Perhaps that was something that was reserved for me and my DNA, so they are doing well without my advice,” he said.
Williams plans to finish his new record next year and hinted there will also be a major British television project on the horizon.
In between, he will be doing the school run with his daughter but not in the bright blue Louboutins.
“I think the spikes are classed as a weapon,” he joked.
Williams opens his tour at Perth Arena on October 9, 10, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, October 13, 14, Brisbane Entertainment Centre October 17, Rod Laver Arena October 22, 23, 24 and Allphones Arena Sydney October 27, 28.
