Rage Against the Machine’s Tim Commerford apologises for inspiring Limp Bizkit

RAGE Against the Machine are the band that inspired Limp Bizkit, and they’re pretty embarrassed about the fact they inspired Limp Bizkit.

THE band that inspired Limp Bizkit are pretty embarrassed about the fact they inspired Limp Bizkit.

At a concert last year, Limp Bizkit’s frontman Fred Durst performed a cover of Rage Against the Machine’s song Killing in the Name (which he’s done more than 100 times before), but not before he thanked the inspirational band.

“This is dedicated to the rap-rock band that started this sh**,” said Fred Durst.

“When I first heard this song, that sh** hit me right the f*** here,” he said as he pointed at his heart.

Yep, Limp Bizkit is still around.

But Rage Against the Machine bassist Tim Commerford is less than thrilled that he is somewhat responsible for Limp Bizkit.

“I do apologise for Limp Bizkit,” he told Rolling Stone.

“I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullsh**.”

Commerford believes he and his RATM mates got the last laugh though, telling the magazine that he’s thrilled Limp Bizkit no longer exists.

“They’re gone, though,” he said, “That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left, and that’s Rage, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re the only one that matters”.

He may think they’re gone, but Limp Bizkit are in fact still together and are currently touring.

According to the band’s website, they’ve got 20 concerts lined up in Russia and Kazahkstan in the next two months.

Commerford’s recent comments aren’t that surprising though.

He’s never been a fan of the band and when Limp Bizkit beat out Rage Against the Machine for an award at the 2000 MTV VMA’s he ran onto the stage and climbed a set decoration in protest.

Eventually security dragged him down and he was arrested for disorderly conduct and spent the night in jail.
