THE surprises from Prince’s camp just keep coming.

The legendary entertainer has confirmed details for his Piano and a Microphone tour and there will be four concerts each in Melbourne and Sydney.

He has booked the State Theatre in Melbourne for two shows each on February 16 and 17.

Prince and his purple baby grand then take up residence for two concerts at the Sydney Opera House on February 20 and the State Theatre on February 21.

He will also play two concerts in Auckland on February 24.

Prince promises to treat fans to a ride through the decades.

Tickets are expected to sell out in minutes when they go on sale at noon on Tuesday.

But wary of scalper action, strict ticketing restrictions will be in force with a limit of two per person.

Fans will have to provide photo identification to collect their wristbands before each concert.

Each show will be unique.

Prince is one of the rare artists in postmodern pop music to never play the same setlist and is expected to draw wildly from his 39 albums as well as new songs and rarities from his immeasurable catalogue.

He debuted the Piano and a Microphone tour at his Paisley Park headquarters on January 21, arriving at his purple baby grand in a shroud of smoke, the room lit by his signature candles.

That show also proved to be an emotional ride through his childhood as he told the story of how he struggled to master the piano in the shadow of his jazz musician father John Nelson.

Tickets for the Melbourne concerts will be available via artscentremelbourne.com.au or ticketmaster.com.au with Sydney Opera House show seats on sale at sydneyoperahouse.com and ticketek.com.au.

The State Theatre concert tickets are available via ticketmaster.com.au.
