Meghan Trainor has opened up about the health and fitness journey that has seen her rocking a dramatically slimmer frame.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Billboard Women in Music event in LA over the weekend, the singer said that while she has been weight training in recent months, she really ought to credit her transformation to “science”.

“Science is the secret. I love it,” she told an ET reporter on the red carpet.

“I learned a lot of tricks that I had no idea [about]. I was working out so incorrectly for so long. I was running and doing cardio and my body was inflamed, always. Hates it.”

The 31-year-old, who showed off her new physique in a vintage off-the-shoulder, semi-sheer tulle dress, said she is all for trying to “biohack my body” and loves a “doctor explaining stuff to me”.

“So anything that’ll help me age backward, I’m into it,” added Trainor, who accepted the Hitmaker Award at the ceremony.

“I just learned about the NADs [food supplement capsules]. I was like, ‘Make me Hailey Bieber, I’ll do it, I’ll take it.’ I’m trying all the things.”

“I mean, look at those kids. I’ve got to lift them up and chase them. I’m exhausted,” she said on the show.

“I try to go [to the gym] three times a week of lifting weights. I didn’t know lifting weights would change my life so much,” she added. “I just saw I can be stronger, you know?”

In January, the pop star also revealed to People that she underwent a breast augmentation because she had always wanted “cutie boobies” since she was a teenager.

“I noticed with my new boobies, it’s helping so much,” she told the magazine. “I always tell myself, I’m like, ‘Girl, I am a female. Look at these boobies.’ I feel so girly and I love it, and it makes me so much more confident and it’s like the best decision I ever made. And I smile every time I shower.”

“It can help your confidence so much if you want – or you’re beautiful and perfect as you are, whatever makes you happiest. These are the boobs of my dreams.”
