Pink makes dramatic announcement during Aussie tour: ‘Self destruct’

“Self destruct”: The singer has delivered some bombshell news to fans in the midst of her massive Australian tour.

Pink has dramatically revealed she’s quitting X (formerly Twitter), leaving fans devastated.

The US pop star, 44, shared the news across two posts on Tuesday evening, one of which she later deleted, after arriving in Australia ahead of the local leg of her massive Summer Carnival tour.

“Have you ever been at a party with a bunch of salty old people that never realised their dreams? Where the liquor ran dry ages ago, there’s no music-no one’s dancing-you would’ve had more fun at home with your blind cat? That’s twitter these days-or whatever it’s called now. Byeeeeeeeeeee,” Pink shared.

Just one minute later, she posted – and quickly deleted – a follow-up note: “This account will self-destruct in two minutes. Do it!!!!”

The So What singer joined the social media site in April 2009 and has amassed a whopping 30 million followers since then.

Pink is yet to actually delete her account, but the news of her impending departure sent fans into a tailspin.

“Be you, stop giving in, you have [thousands] of fans here that love and support you,” one urged her, while another wrote: “Don’t break my achy breaky heaaarrttt!”

Earlier this week, the pop superstar shared a series of pictures of herself enjoying some family time in Sydney ahead of her first show later this week.

“Bondi Beach it’s been too long!!!!!!!” Pink wrote in the caption. “Bills was delicious, too. ️Soooooooo happy to be back on this side of the world! Thank you beautiful Australia for being our home away from home. Kids are stoked.”

The Aussie leg of her Summer Carnival tour, supported by local act Tones and I, begins on Friday night at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, before moving to Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

It’s been almost six years since Pink’s 2018 tour Beautiful Trauma, which saw just under 560,000 Australian and New Zealand fans snap up tickets.
