Miley Cyrus to bring her controversial Bangerz tour to Australia in October

IT is the tour that everyone has been talking about all year and now Miley Cyrus brings her outrageous Bangerz extravaganza to Australia later this year.

IT’S the tour kids will be desperate to see, and their parents will be desperate to stop them seeing.

Twerking superstar Miley Cyrus will bring one of the most outrageous pop tours to Australian arenas in October.

The tour outraged parents and thrilled fans in equal measure when it kicked off in the US earlier this year.

Cyrus - formerly engaged to Australian movie star Liam Hemsworth - sets the tone for the show by arriving sliding down a giant tongue.

The North American leg of the Bangerz show has so far included her simulating oral sex with a dancer in a Bill Clinton mask, her riding a giant hot dog, several instances of simulated masturbation, incredibly high-cut costumes, including a onesie decorated with marijuana leaves, a sprinkling of S&M, and a dancer dressed as a giant joint.

The pop princess has completely destroyed any remnant of her Hannah Montana alter ego with the show, gyrating and kissing her dancers.

She can also take the credit — and the blame — for the lingering popularity of the onesie thanks to the concert costumes.

The concert stage has also proven to be a headline-grabbing platform for a series of shout-outs and disses against “friends” including Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber.

The Bangerz album has put Cyrus into the same camp as chart-topping pop heavyweights including Rihanna and Beyonce, debuting at No. 1 in more that 70 countries, spearheaded by the hit singles Wrecking Ball and We Can’t Stop.

Cyrus last toured Australia in 2011, and visited Victoria in 2010 when she spent time with Hemsworth at his Phillip Island home.

A Dainty Group ticket pre-sale opens on Friday with general seats on sale from Monday, priced between $99.90 and $149.90 before booking fees.

The Bangerz tour kicks off at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on October 10, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 15, Allphones Arena on October 17, Adelaide Entertainment Centre on October 20 and Perth Arena on October 23.
