New Year’s Day festival Field Day has thrown a cost-of-living bonus to their loyal punters offering tickets for $50 cheaper than last year.
The annual Sydney event in the city’s green heart The Domain on January 1 will also feature a “100 per cent dance music line-up” which they heralded with cheeky billboards declaring “At least DJs don’t cancel.”
“We’re so happy to be going back to our roots and bringing back a 100% Dance music line-up for Field Day 2025,” a statement from the promoters Fuzzy said.
Historically, some r&b and hip hop acts have a reputation for cancelling their Australian visits at the last minute.
Fuzzy also announced the first release of tickets which go on sale on October 24 will cost $142 plus booking fee.
The second release will be $157, the third release is $177 and the fourth batch of tickets will cost $187.
A VIP ticket will set you back $273 plus booking fee.
“We want to make it as easy for people to have fun, celebrate the new year and get back to the dancefloor and are pleased to offer starting tickets $50 cheaper than last year. We hope to see you there spreading love and positive vibes,” the promoters said.
Laneway Festival, which is headlined by English pop star Charli XCX and also features alternative acts including Clairo and Remi Wolf, sold out their Sydney and Melbourne events when tickets went on sale on Wednesday.
It is also light on bands – which tend to be more expensive to tour and produce, with Laneway tickets ranging from $189.90 at the pre-sale up to $229.90 plus fees.
The 2024 Field Day festival featured headliners including Australian electronic superstars Rufus Du Sol and Luude and British rapper Central Cee.
The 2025 line-up will be announced on October 22.
