‘I’d rather see a drag queen’: Elton John rips into Janet Jackson

ELTON John is not a fan of Janet Jackson. He tore into the singer in Rolling Stone magazine, attacking her for lip-synching on her world tour.

ELTON John has ripped into Janet Jackson.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the 69-year-old said he’d rather “go and see a drag queen” than watch Jackson perform on her Unbreakable world tour.

“You know, f***ing music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show — four and a half stars’,” said John.

“It’s f***ing lip-synced! Hello! That’s not a show! I’d rather go and see a drag queen. F*** off.”

This isn’t the first time the Candle in the Wind singer has publicly dissed another artist for lip-synching.

Sir Elton John does not hold back.

At the 2004 Q Awards, while accepting the award for classic songwriter, John let rip with a spectacular spray at Madonna.

“Madonna, best live act? F*** off,” he said. “Since when has lip-synching been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-synchs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot. Thank you very much. That’s me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No.”

He took things a step further in 2012 when he called Madonna a “c**t” on Channel Seven’s Sunday Night.

“Her tour is a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c**t,” said John on the current affairs program.

“If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light, stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and made great pop records, which she does brilliantly ... And she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper.”

In his most recent interview with Rolling Stone, John revealed that he has since ended his feud with Madonna.

“I probably went too far with Madonna, and I got very personal and I wrote her — she was very gracious.”
