CHART topping British band Florence & the Machine will perform intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney in July.
Due to expected high demand fans will have to apply for tickets through a ballot system.
Florence Welch and her band will play the Palais Theatre in Melbourne on July 22 and the State Theatre in Sydney on July 23.
Fans need to sign up to the ballot at www.florence.lanewaypresents.com.
Ballot entries need to be received by midday Thursday. Successful applicants from the ballot will be notified by email and then can purchase tickets in a window from 2pm Friday to Saturday via an exclusive link.
Florence & the Machine will also headline the sold out Splendour in the Grass festival on July 25.
These will be their only Australian shows on this trip.
The band release their third album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful on Friday.
Welch, who broke her foot at the Coachella Festival in April, said her recovery is going well.
“The body is a magical thing,” she said. “It was a pretty substantial break and the only thing I could do to mend it was rest. I’m just not very good at resting.”
While she has been performing seated since Coachella, Welch hopes to be back on her feet by the Australian dates.
“I maybe just won’t jump as high. I doubt I’ll be any more restrained. I know myself, having a bit of time away only means you come back to it with more ferocity. I’ve been like that with every aspect of my life. Every time you have a bit of time off from something it doesn’t mean when you go back to it it’s more mellow.”
