COLDPLAY made good on their big promise of a special moment by inviting the “Queen of Australia” Kylie Minogue to perform not one but two songs at their only concert in the country last night.
As revealed exclusively by News Corp Australia yesterday, not only did they perform her massive hit Can’t Get You Outta My Head but Kylie, Chris and the band also gave a superb rendition of her Nick Cave duet Where The Wild Roses Grow in an extra encore.

It was a star studded finale to a joyous gig packed with true believers, who had secured the precious tickets to one of only seven concerts the band will perform in the world in support of their latest record Ghost Stories.
The set was almost identical to their Max Sessions taping at the Star Event Centre on Wednesday, which will be broadcast in August.
But the diehard fans at the Enmore Theatre show brought an electric energy which infected Coldplay’s performance of even the most lovelorn ballads from their new album, which musically chronicles Martin’s split with Gwyneth Paltrow.
During the hits including Viva La Vida, God Put A Smile On Your Face and A Sky Full Of Stars, they screamed and bounced along.
They kept the chants and whoas going in between songs, out of tune but so beautifully enthusiastic.
Martin and the band gave their all in response, clearly loving being with their people, with the frontman draping himself in the Australian flag thrown on stage and shouting out to supportive friends and fans.
They will record a special performance for The Voice on Monday tomorrow before a cocktail party to mark the return of the “live” finals.
Their Australian visit has concentrated on prerecorded television performances, with Martin banning interviews to avoid reliving the painful subject matter of Ghost Stories, which chronicles his heartache after the recent “conscious uncoupling” from Paltrow.
The set focused on the new album with Always In My Head, True Love, Oceans and Ink while favourites including Clocks, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and Fix You receiving a rapturous response.
Martin clearly loved every minute of the performance, demanding the house lights be turned on a few times during the night and changing up lyrics to pay tribute to Coldplay’s loyal Australian fans.
He threw himself around the stage with the kind of abandon that suggests performing is as much an exorcism for his heartbreak as it is his day job.
Their video clip for their song A Sky Full of Stars, which they filmed in Sydney, also dropped on YouTube today.
