Coachella 2018: Beyonce stuns at ‘Beychella’ as Destiny’s Child, Jay Z join her onstage

BEYONCE has ruled at Coachella, in a history-making performance the internet dubbed ‘Beychella’.
It has even inspired one of her biggest admirers from the music world to try and mimic her dance moves as she watched on from home.
Queen Bey, 36, became the first African American woman to headline the Californian music festival. She did so with a knockout performance which included a Destiny’s Child reunion and appearances by her rapper husband, Jay Z, and sister, Solange Knowles.
“Thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline Coachella,” Beyonce told the crowd.
“This is a very important performance for me ... do we have any strong women out there tonight?”
Beyonce was due to headline last year’s festival but had to pull out after she became pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir, who were born last June.
Wearing custom-made costumes designed by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, Beyonce launched into hit after hit included Formation, Crazy In Love, Sorry, Bow Down, Drunk in Love, Flawless, Diva, 7/11, Don’t Hurt Yourself, I Care, Partition, Yonce, Check On It, Run the World (Girls) , Single Ladies and ending with Love On Top.
Queen Bey’s moves even inspired Adele to started dancing in front of her TV, copying her as she performed on stage.
While Adele was not there in person, it didn’t stop her from getting up in front of her TV and joining in during the live stream.
The UK superstar posted three separate Instagram Boomerang posts, where she can be seen dancing with a trumpet, swinging her head around and shakes her booty.
Adele was wearing her trackpants and a T-shirt at the time — and didn’t hold back one bit.
Beyonce lost several awards to Adele at the Grammy Awards in 2017. Adele later told the world of her admiration for Beyoncé in her acceptance speech.
“All us artists adore you. You are our light. The way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. I love you. I always have. And I always will. Grammys, I appreciate it.”
She later told reporters: “What the f--k does she have to do to win Album of the Year?”
Jay Z joined Beyonce for Deja Vu and she reunited with Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for a medley (and trademark matching sequined outfits like it was 1999) of Lose My Breath, Say My Name and Soldier.
“Our silhouettes and our sort of Mad Max, futuristic take on military looks for Fall were a perfect fit,” Rousteing told Vogue of the costumes.
“Jay saw the Egyptian goddess cape and when B put it on, his eyes went wide and he was so excited, he said, ‘Oh, wow!’ That gave me a lot of satisfaction.”
In a subtle nod to the Coachella uniform of denim cut-off shorts, Bey teamed the look with a yellow high school-style hoodie, and later sported a patent black bodysuit with military-style power shoulders, thigh-high boots and a puffy jacket.
“Ladies, are we smart? Are we strong? Have we had enough?,” she told the crowd.
Beyonce-branded merchandise was seriously hot property at Coachella, with organisers confirming none of Queen Bey’s merch was to be sold until her performance started. Rihanna was seen watching front row, according to a source.
Beyonce will return to Coachella next weekend.
COACHELLA PARTIES
AUSTRALIAN clothing label Nana Judy threw a star-studded afterparty on Friday night, partnering with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sons, Christian and Justin Combs.
Dubbed “CombsFest” and staged in a converted aeroplane hanger, Nana Judy’s hot-ticket bash included performances by Lil Wayne and Bella Thorne, with Diddy and his girlfriend, Me & U singer Cassie, partying until late.
The streetwear brand’s event on Saturday night — decked out in Nana Judy-branded cabanas and cadilacs — was due to be attended by rapper G-eazy and his singer girlfriend, Halsey.
Meantime, Rihanna, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski and Australian model Shanina Shaik were among the seriously well-dressed crowd at Coachella over the weekend.
Denim cut-offs, layered gold jewellery, double denim and crochet dresses were trending at the festival, which is hugely influential.
Revolve, Levis and Fenty x Puma staged major activations with guests lists that boasted Bella and Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, and Snoop Dogg.
What celebrities wear at the much-Instagrammed festival can translate into massive sales for brands.
Last year, Rihanna wore a $A579 Gucci logo tank (scrawled with the words “common sense is not that common”) to a Nana Judy party, teamed with denim shorts, Gucci glasses, and a full-body glittering bodysuit and a hooded mask that completely covered her face.
Online searches for the Gucci tank increased by 200 per cent after she wore it, according to Who What Wear.
Time will tell where the same can be said for her hot pink FentyXPUMA ensemble.
