Adorable unseen pictures from a mid-1990s photo shoot show the pint-sized soon-to-be pop phenomenon primping, posing and parading for photographer David Baren’s camera.
Just three years before she became the world’s biggest pop megastar with the hit song Baby One More Time, Spears starred in this fun black-and-white photoshoot ... which even features her famous plaid school skirt.
Big hair, ripped jeans, round glasses the young Spears was clearly ahead of the times, what with the 90s fashion renaissance we’re seeing at the moment.
Although we’re not so sure about the corduroy top hat.
The star fell victim to the trials of global fame in the mid 2000s, when she became known more for her partying, marriage breakdowns and other misdemeanours than her music.
These images show an optimistic and talented future star, before her innocence was sexualised by record company marketing executives.
Spears has dusted off those spangly jumpsuits to star in her own Vegas show Piece of Me.
The singer recently signed a deal with Caesar’s Planet Hollywood to keep the show running into 2017.
She’s happy in love with new man Charlie Ebersol and also picked up the Favourite Pop Star award at the People’s Choice Awards last year in Los Angeles.
