CONTROVERSIAL pop star Chris Brown will perform three concerts in Australia in December but may be barred from going ahead with a planned Auckland show.
Brown will have to seek a special visa from New Zealand immigration because he has been blocked from entering the UK and Canada after his conviction for assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Brown is booked to play the Vector Arena in Auckland on December 18 after his concerts in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

But it is reported immigration authorities have not yet received an application for the “special direction” visa Brown would require to enter the country.
His felony conviction for assault prompted British authorities to refuse him entry in 2010 and Canadian immigration to reject his application earlier this year.
“If Chris Brown has been excluded from another country he will be ineligible to be granted a visa to enter New Zealand unless given a special direction,” Immigration New Zealand’s Michael Carley said in a statement.
A spokeswoman for his Australian promoter said there would be no issues with entering Australia as he was able to go ahead with his sold-out arena tour in 2011 and returned for Supafest in 2012.
Brown’s chart stocks in Australia have remained high despite his career being plagued by scandal including allegations of violating his probation, scuffles with Drake, Frank Ocean and some fans and was forced to undergo anger management rehab.
In March he revealed he is the father of a baby girl called Royalty with Nia Guzman and won joint custody of the child last month.
The One Hell Of A Nite tour will open at the Perth Arena on December 9 and then head to Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on December 12 and Allphones Arena on December 14.
Tickets are on sale from noon on September 28.
