‘Treated me like a servant’: Celebrity hairstylist says Anne Hathaway was ‘worst’ ever client

A celebrity hairstylist has come forward with claims Anne Hathaway was one of the “worst” clients he’s ever worked with.

'She did something pretty amazing': Anne Hathaway apologised for 'awful' interview

A celebrity hairstylist has called Anne Hathaway one of the “worst” clients he’s ever worked with in a scathing new podcast.

Emanuel Miller, who has worked with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp, claimed Hathaway “treated him like a servant” for the entire four months they were on location together filming a movie in LA.

Speaking on Julian Morgan’s podcast What It Was Like, Miller explained that he often forms friendships with his clients, but The Devil Wears Prada star insisted on keeping her distance.

“I did a film with Anne Hathaway and that was one of my worst experiences,” he said in the podcast, a snippet of which was shared on TikTok and has clocked up 2.1 million views so far.

“Anne never acknowledged me as a person for four and a half months. She treated me like a servant.”

Miller said that his daughter even played Hathaway’s “stand-in” in the movie and still the actress did not bother getting to know him.

“I was doing her hair personally, just one-on-one. I was just doing her hair,” he recalled.

“She never said, ‘Your daughter, do you have any other children?’ or ‘How long have you been married?’ There was never any personal conversation, which Cate Blanchett and I we knew each other’s family, she knew my children. Johnny Depp was that way, Tom Hanks too. But Anne Hathaway never did that.”

The hairdresser goes on to say that Hathaway is “worse” than fellow actress Blake Lively, who has recently dragged for the fluffy way she promoted her filmIt Ends With Us, which heavily features domestic violence themes.

“When I first met Blake I thought, ‘Oh no, is this another Anne situation?’ She was so dismissive from the get go,” Miller remembered thinking, before concluding Hathaway was still more painful.

The scathing podcast comes after the Princess Diaries star was labelled “mean” and “rude” in a past interview that resurfaced online earlier this month.

In a press junket while promoting her movie musical Les Misérables in 2012, Hathaway gave journalist Kjersti Flaa monosyllabic answers to questions while appearing closed-off the entire interview.

Flaa later revealed in a new TikTok that, after posting the clip of the interview online, Hathaway personally reached out to her to apologise for her demeanour when they met.

The reporter revealed Hathaway’s publicist had forwarded a “long” email from the star, “explaining what she was going through when she did this interview, and she apologised for giving me an awkward interview, basically.”

‘Nightmare’ Blake Lively interview resurfaces amid alleged feud

She called Hathaway’s email “touching and personal,” and revealed that they’d since emailed back and forth – and the star had invited her to interview her for her next movie.

“I have so much respect for people who own up to their mistakes and say they’re sorry. I’m so grateful,” she said.

Flaa is the same journalist who shared the now-viral clip of Blake Lively being a “nightmare“ to interview for the film Café Society back in 2016, making her “want to quit” her job.

In the throwback footage, Flaa congratulated the then-pregnant actress on her “little bump”, only for the star to sarcastically reply, “Congrats on your little bump.”
