‘I don’t know if he’s fond of me’: Gina Liano’s link to MAFS’ Dion Giannarelli

Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano has said she doesn’t think MAFS’ Dion “is particularly fond of me”, as their bizarre link is revealed.

Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano has revealed her awkward history with MAFS groom Dion Giannarelli.

Following Dion’s appearance on this season of the dating show, it’s re-emerged Liano, 56, dated his father, businessman Dean Giannarelli, for 12 years, with their relationship ending in 2018.

Speaking on Hit FM’s Gliffo and Gabi, the barrister turned reality star said: “I don’t know if he’s particularly fond of me”, when asked about her connection to Dion, 33.

“I haven’t seen Dion for a long time,” she added. “He was typically challenged by the relationship I had with his father, and I wasn’t his mother. And a lot of young boys are like that when the father moves on.

“It was a long time ago, but we travelled together and I’m very fond of Dion. I don’t know if he’s particularly fond of me.”

Liano – who has previously been divorced twice – kept relatively tight-lipped about her lengthy relationship with Dean, after rising to fame on the first season of Foxtel’s RHOM in 2014.

The duo had been pictured together at a number of social events in Melbourne, and also endured three years of long distance when Dean moved to the US.

Despite their low-key relationship, Dean was mentioned in the first season of RHOM when Liano – who had been dating him since 2006 – did a psychic reading with her fellow co-star, Jackie Gillies. She asked Gillies, “Has my guy got another woman over there (in the US)?”.

The pair were reported to have split afterwards, though they rekindled their relationship and remained together for another four years.

Meanwhile Dion, who is a wealthy property developer, became embroiled in this year’s MAFS cheating scandal when his TV ‘wife’ Carolina Santos had an affair with outgoing groom Daniel Holmes.
