Taylor Swift fans have slammed the official Ticketek Marketplace resale for Era’s Tour tickets, slamming it as a “catastrophic system failure”.

The Era’s Tour has been one of the most sought after tickets of 2023 and frustrated fans have taken to social media to call out Ticketek after they made payment and received no ticket confirmation.

One Brisbane fan, 20-year-old Brianna Cashen, paid hundreds of dollars for tickets after waiting online for over 30 hours.

“Looking at my bank account I realised the money was gone with no confirmation of purchase and no tickets.”

The Ticketek Marketplace sale was a final ditch effort for fans who were unable to grab tickets in the previous three sales and was a platform where fans could safely secure tickets, without fear of being scammed.

However, on Friday, fans accused Ticketek of having a “faulty system” despite knowing the unprecedented demand.

Not only were there fans hoping to buy tickets queuing on the site, but so were fans who wanted to list their tickets to sell, which caused major delays and now, payment and ticket issues.

Ms Cashen said she contacted Ticketek twice inquiring about the lack of confirmation and has not received a reply in over three days.

“I am angry, I love Taylor and to be spending money on tickets, having the hope that I’m going now fade after also potentially losing money on flights and hotel bookings is frustrating and upsetting,” she said.

Ms Cashen is not alone with a number of fans having experienced the same issue.

One Reddit user took to the platform to share their concern stating “I recently purchased two tickets from Ticketek Marketplace, but I haven’t received any email confirmation or seen the tickets on my Ticketek app, I’m a bit concerned that I won’t get the tickets even though I’ve already paid for them.”

Another added, “the systematic failure by Ticketek to sell these tickets appropriately has been nothing short of catastrophic.”

On TikTok it was even discovered that two fans who experienced this issue had brought the exact same tickets worth over $1300.

One user commented “the same thing has happened to me, I’ve lost two grand,” another stated “Ticketek has A LOT to answer for”.

Angry fans proceeded to call out the ‘failed system’, with one commenting “I am disgusted with this system, that amount of hours/days I’ve spent, it just hurts”.

While some fans have said they received an email confirmation with tickets, others spent hours online where an error message “this listing is being transacted by another customer” appeared, and eventually ‘securing’ tickets with no confirmation.

The Ticketek Marketplace has caused further outrage for fans selling tickets, as they discovered they would not receive payment until 10 days after the event had occurred.

On their website Ticketek stated they “withhold payment to ensure there are no issues with the tickets or the event”.

A Twitter fan pointed out “so, you’re saying I will have to wait months to get $1200 back in my account? How ridiculous.”

Swifty’s like Ms Cashen are patiently waiting for answers about whether they secured tickets to the concert or not.

“All that this has left me is losing money and countless tears,” Ms Cashen said.

The Courier Mail contacted Ticketek who advised that “anyone who has a pending transaction will be seeing money back in their account”.

They added that “anyone who secured a ticket should be in their Ticketek app”.
