HBO’s Succession renewed for season 4

Season 3 has only just begun airing but HBO has announced there will be a fourth season of Succession.

Get ready for more family time with the Roys.

HBO has announced that it has (unsurprisingly) renewed the Emmy-winning drama Succession for a fourth season.

The show’s third season premiered on October 18 in Australia on Foxtel, with new episodes airing weekly on Mondays.

“With each season of Succession, Jesse Armstrong has continued to surpass our wildest expectations, pulling us deeper into the Roy family’s inner sanctum with indelible wit, humanity, and precision,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, in a statement.

“This season is undoubtedly no exception, and we couldn’t be more excited for all that’s in store in this next season ahead.”

Succession Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Kendall’s (Jeremy Strong) public betrayal of his CEO father, Logan (Brian Cox), leaving the rest of the Roy family scrambling to choose sides as the future of Waystar Royco itself hangs in the balance.

Returning cast members also include Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Friedman, J. Smith Cameron, Dagmara Dominczyk, Justine Lupe, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, Arian Moayed, Harriet Walter, James Cromwell, Natalie Good, Juliana Canfield, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Zoë Winters, and Jeannie Berlin.

New additions include Alexander Skarsgard, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond, Jihae, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis, and Dasha Nekrasova.

Succession is executive produced by Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell.

While Season 4 confirmation is great news for Succession fans, it also means the acclaimed drama is drawing closer to its end.

Earlier this year, writer and producer Georgia Pritchett told The Times that Succession would likely run for a maximum of five seasons, but added that it could be “more like four.”

“At this point [Armstrong] is saying only one more [season]. But that happens every time,” she added.

“We’ve got a good end in sight.”
