PETER Helliar missed out on a Logie nomination this year — and the panellists on Have You Been Paying Attention? couldn’t stop joking about it.

THE Have You Been Paying Attention? panellists took great delight in mocking Peter Helliar for missing out on a Logie nomination.
Host Tom Gleisner kicked off last night’s episode by saying to Helliar: “Pete, another year, another Logies snub.”
“Fun way to kick off the show,” Helliar replied.
“There was quite a campaign to get you the Gold nomination,” Gleisner continued.
“Obviously it didn’t work, Tom,” Helliar said.
The jokes at Helliar’s expense kept coming when Wallabies star Adam Coleman appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention? as a guest quiz master.
During a chat with the sportsman, Gleisner asked Coleman if he was expecting to make the team when the Wallabies take on Ireland in a few weeks.
“What, you have him on the show and he’s not going to make the team?” Helliar joked.
But Helliar was floored by Gleisner’s stunning comeback.
“We had you on and you didn’t get a Logie nomination!” the host said.
BOOM.
Sam Pang also had a crack at Helliar when he buzzed in to answer the question: “After four years the hunt for what officially ends this week?”
Referencing Helliar’s game show that struggled in the ratings last year, Pang answered: “the right timeslot for Cram?”
Helliar didn’t cop the most brutal jokes during the show though. That honour went to former Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce.
The panellists couldn’t help themselves when Gleisner asked the question: “Barnaby Joyce and his partner Vikki Campion have agreed to do their first TV interview. What’s the show?”
Helliar answered first, saying: “Married At First Sight?”
Ed Kavalee chimed in with: “Love Child?”
And Sam Pang brought it home by answering: “Is it Farmer Lost A Wife?”
The Logie nominations were announced last Sunday on the Gold Coast ahead of the ceremony on July 1.
Have You Been Paying Attention? has been nominated for Most Popular Comedy Program whereas Helliar missed out on getting a single nomination.
The popular comedian was nominated for the Gold Logie last year but lost out to Samuel Johnson.
In March, Helliar told news.com.au that he thought his Project co-host, Lisa Wilkinson was a certainty to win the Gold Logie this year, but she too missed out on a single nomination on the weekend.
“I think it’s got Wilkinson written all over it to be honest,” Helliar said before the Logie nominations were announced. “I hope Lisa wins it. I think she deserves it and I was genuinely surprised she wasn’t nominated last year.”
The year’s Gold Logie contenders are Amanda Keller, Andrew Winter, Grant Denyer, Jessica Marais, Rodger Corser and Tracy Grimshaw.
