A popular festival has cancelled an upcoming Queensland show due to “insufficient ticket sales”, leaving revellers shocked.

GTM Festivals PTY LTD issued a statement on Wednesday sharing its “extreme disappointment” for having to cancel Groovin the Moo 24.

The show was set to be held at the Sunshine Coast Stadium at Kawana on May 5.

The company urged all customers would have their tickets refunded automatically.

“Ticket sales have not been sufficient to deliver a regional festival of this kind,” the organisers confirmed.

“Thank you to everybody who has supported the festival. We hope to be able to bring

Groovin the Moo back to regional communities in the future.”

The show was set to feature Alison Wonderland, King Stingray, San Cisco, the Kooks and a number of Australian indie rock bands.

People quickly took to social media to share their disappointment.

“Maybe next year come back with a real line-up and people will think it’s a real festival,” a commenter said.

Another person commented the line-up was “dogs--t”.

“Tickets only just went on sale and you’ve already declared no enough were sold?”

Last year the festival attracted crowds of about 25,000 people.
