Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester spotted at Burleigh Pavilion while filming Good Cop/Bad Cop

One of the stars of hit show Gossip Girl has been spotted out-and-about on the Gold Coast in between filming a new star-studded TV series in Queensland.

Gossip Girl Star Leighton Meester has been spotted by fans at the Burleigh Pavilion on the Gold Coast.

The award-winning American actress, who played the popular character Blair Waldorf aka “Queen B” on the hit TV series, which ran from 2007 to 2012, is understood to be filming comedy-drama Good Cop/Bad Cop in the Scenic Rim from late March.

Written by Will & Grace writer John Quaintance, Good Cop/Bad Cop features a star-studded cast, with Meester joined by Dexter: New Blood’s Clancy Brown and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Luke Cook.

It was secured by Screen Queensland through the state government’s Production Attraction Strategy.

The show’s production was estimated to inject $14.4 million into the economy, support local business and create over 200 jobs.

In a photo circulating online, Meester can be seen smiling happily alongside excited fans at the Gold Coast hotspot.

TikTok user Ilayda Ozcan even managed to score a photograph with the celebrity, sharing the excitement of her thrilling encounter with Meester with her followers.

“So I went to the bouncer and I’m like, ‘is that her’,” Ms Ozcan recounted in the video.

“And they were like, ‘Yeah, go up to her.’ They literally hyped us up.”

Meester herself caught wind of their stares and graciously offered a photo op before they could make their move.

Other TikTok users chimed in, detailing their own personal encounters with the star.

“I sat across from her at Justin Lane last Saturday night. At first I wasn’t sure if it was her and now I’ve come across your video!!!!” TikTok user @dgemina commented.
