G Flip: From Melbourne pubs to global stardom and ARIA Awards glory

ARIA Award-winning singer G Flip has spoken about the complexities of settling down following their surprise wedding with Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause.

G Flip says they hope to start a family with Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause in the future.

The non-binary Melbourne-born musician said the reality star, who they tied the knot with earlier this year in a secret Las Vegas ceremony, was always “front row, or by the mixing desk with my merch on dancing and singing,” at their shows.

“She’s great, and she’s always up for an adventure, she’s up to fly wherever and go wherever,” they said, gushing about Stause.

G Flip said their vision for their life with Stause included starting a family, which was a dream they both cherished.

But G Flip acknowledged the complexities their rock star lifestyle would bring, including being unable to have a permanent base.

“I think, just with work, it’s actually impossible for me to be based (anywhere) because I’m always on tour … So I just feel like I live out of a suitcase, so I don’t really have a base. But I do have 2 beds to rest my head, and one’s in LA, and one’s in Australia,” they said.

Although G Flip’s passion for their craft can be traced back to their childhood, watching their dad play at local RSLs, they “wouldn’t mind at all” if their own kids aren’t drummers.

“They (my future kids) can do whatever they want,” G Flip said.

“I always thought he (my dad) was a f*cking rock star himself,” they shared.

“So I kinda think my very first little idea of being a rock star came from that – And then I just found the love in drums in as instrument.”

The 30-year old, who won two ARIA Awards in November, said they have dreams beyond music for the future.

“I want to get into acting, I want to write a book, I want to write children’s books, I want to do voice acting for animation, I want to be involved with maybe some kind of non-binary clothing line that’s like genderless clothing,” they said.

“The list goes on because every day I have ideas.

“I’ve based my life off this quote that’s ‘create the things you wish existed’, and I’m always finding things that don’t exist, that I want to make exist in the world.”

“I love Brissy so I can’t wait to be there and I’m spending the countdown in Brissy, so it’s going to be great,” they said.
