Frozen: How to snap up tickets to the Broadway musical in Brisbane

Just in time for Christmas, tickets to Disney’s Frozen are on sale before the hit Broadway musical comes to QPAC in February.

Frozen fans – and anyone on the hunt for Christmas presents – at the ready.

Tickets for the Queensland premiere season of Disney’s Frozen, the hit musical direct from Broadway, go on sale Friday before the production takes the stage at QPAC from February 10.

Opening the 2022 theatrical calendar, the new Broadway production from the producers of Aladdin, The Lion King and Mary Poppins comes to Queensland following successful seasons in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Australian principal cast features Queensland’s Courtney Monsma as Anna, Jemma Rix in the role of Elsa, and Matt Lee as Olaf.

Monsma said the story, based on the hit Disney film, was the perfect way to come out of ongoing Covid lockdowns.

“It’s been really hard but it’s very much like the story, being locked away not able to go outside so when it all goes back it’ll be very real,” she said.

“The production has been brought straight from that Broadway stage, which we often don’t really get in Australia, so it’s beautiful – it makes playing the character so much more special because the dresses are real and the set is absolutely amazing.”

“I’m genuinely so looking forward to it. I just love performing in Brisbane.”

Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said the Queensland Government recognised the importance of the arts for the community and described the musical as a “warm hug” to begin the 2022 calendar at QPAC.

“I could not think of a more perfect way to kick off the New Year than with this magical musical theatre experience,” she said.
