Dr Susan Carland wants to win a Logie to annoy Pauline Hanson

Her husband Waleed Aly has won several Logies and now Dr Susan Carland has come up with a hilarious reason as to why she deserves votes.

“Is it worth voting for me just for the reaction it will evoke in Pauline Hanson? YES!”

Dr Susan Carland has come up with a hilarious reason to encourage people to vote for her in the Most Popular Presenter category for this year’s Logies.

Carland, who is a Muslim convert and is married to The Project’s Waleed Aly, made the shortlist for the Most Popular Presenter category for her hosting role on SBS show Child Genius and took to Instagram to urge fans to vote for her.

“Friends. Am I the greatest TV presenter of all time? No,” Carland wrote.

“But am I the most likeable and deserving person to win this Logie? Also no.

“But is it worth voting for me just for the reaction it will evoke in Pauline Hanson? YES.”

Dr Carland and Hanson aren’t exactly the best of friends due to the One Nation leader’s negative comments about Muslims.

The voting period for this year’s Logie Awards is now open and fans can cast their votes on TV Week’s website for Most Popular Actor, Most Popular Actress, Most Popular Presenter and the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.

At the moment, fans can pick from a shortlist of candidates in each category which were put forward by each of the TV networks.

The stars on the shortlist who get the most votes between now and March 31 will then be announced as Logie nominees on Sunday, May 26.

Voting for the 11 Most Popular categories will then reopen from June 24 until the end of the red carpet broadcast of the Logies which are being held on June 30 at The Star on the Gold Coast.

Dr Carland isn’t the only personality who has taken to social media to encourage fans to vote for the Logies. Carrie Bickmore posted an adorable photo from her dress fitting on Instagram and urged fans to vote, with The Living Room’s Barry Dubois and Love it or List It’s Andrew Winter also posting to tell fans they’ve made the shortlist.
