Dolphins’ player Sean O’Sullivan and partner Danica Lappin have announced they’re expecting a daughter, during in an intimate backyard gender reveal shared on Instagram.

Dolphins’ player Sean O’Sullivan and his partner Danica Lappin are expecting a baby girl.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the couple shared a touching gender reveal moment from a party in their back yard.

O’Sullivan, 25, took centre stage, puncturing an opaque black balloon inscribed with the question ‘Boy or girl?’. A shower of pink confetti confirmed the news of a baby girl on the way.

Lappin, 23, couldn’t contain her joy, while O’Sullivan was caught on camera possibly shedding tears of happiness at the prospect of becoming a father to a baby girl.

The post was simply captioned by Lappin, “O’Sullivan baby due March 24,” punctuated by a heart emoji.

The sporting world was swift in celebrating with the couple. Lions AFLW player, Dee Heslop, shared a hearty “Congratulations fam,” while Ellie Carmichael, the significant other of Cowboys’ Reece Robson, added, “Congratulations gorgeous, most amazing journey incoming.”

O’Sullivan has been dating partner Danica Lappin since 2017.

Lappin is a staunch supporter of her beau and a fixture on the sideline as O’Sullivan bounced between clubs in recent years, before his signing with the Dolphins.
