Disney fans are in for a treat, with tickets now on sale for Queensland Museum’s winter blockbuster which is certain to be a hit for anyone who knows their Mickeys from their Moanas and their Elsas from their Encantos.

Disney fans are in for a treat, with tickets now on sale for Queensland Museum’s winter blockbuster. Disney: The Magic of Animation opens June 24 and will feature hundreds of works spanning almost a century of magical Disney animation.
The exhibition has been curated by the team at the Walt Disney Animation Research Library in Los Angeles and Queensland Museum Network CEO Dr Jim Thompson says fans have been hotly anticipating the ticket release.
“We’ve had record numbers sign up for the waitlist,” Dr Thompson says. “Tickets are now on sale for the exhibition and a full program of themed events. Our popular After Dark and A Night at the Museum events will be returning along with a school holidays program and more activities.”
So how does the target audience feel about it?
Thomas Ladisaar, 9, says he is “really looking forward to seeing how the drawings come to life.” His five year old sister Charlotte is hanging out to see how they mad her favourite movie, Encanto.
Mum Kate says it will be “a fantastic exhibition that has something for all my children to enjoy”.
“Tom will be impressed with all the technical aspects of turning drawings into animations, while Charlotte and Emily will absolutely love to see how their favourite animated characters came to life,” Kate said. “I can’t wait to bring the kids along to the exhibition when it opens.”
The exhibition will take visitors on a journey through scenes from some of their favourite movies to discover how animation artists use colour to express emotions and the technical skills of crafting characters and stories. Starting with the origins of Mickey Mouse right through to Encanto, the latest Disney smash hit, it’s all covered.
