A swimwear ‘brand’ which is using images of Aussie models and designers on its social media channels, is asking underage girls to send it scantily clad images of themselves via Instagram.

Tropical Swim Co, which has posted photographs of Aussie model Tash Oakley and is using pictures of local swimwear brand Frankii Swim, has been caught private messaging girls as young as 13 asking for images so they can become “brand ambassadors”.

Sunday Confidential has obtained messages between Tropical Swim Co and a 13-year-old girl, which reveal the alarming practice.

“We would like to offer you an opportunity as a brand ambassador,” one message read. “Ambassadors receive free to discounted suits based on their social media following and engagement rates. Are you able to complete the submission video and images for your free bikini. You can take mirror selfies.”

When the teen replied that she would like to check with her parents, Tropical Swim Co replied: “There is no age requirement ... you do not need your parents’ permission or consent. Send them (the images) over and we will send you your free bikini.”

When Sunday Confidential approached Frankii Swim founder Rebecca Klodinsky on Saturday, she was appalled to find out what was taking place.

“Frankii Swim does not condone this and is no way affiliated to the Tropical Swim Co. Our team are taking action against this and reporting it to assist in the removal of our content from the Tropical Swim channels,” she said.

Sunday Confidential attempted to reach Tropical Swim Co for comment, however they failed to respond.
