BEING discovered by Sir Elton John’s late former mentor stands Sydney singer Holly White in good stead for a fruitful career.
The 18-year-old model, singer and actor met record producer Steve Brown in Malta when travelling with her family a few years ago.
“He basically told me I had a voice and I have to use it,” she said.
“We would hang out and he’d teach me piano and music. I had always been interested in music but he really brought it back home.”
The young singer, who had a brief stint on Home And Away, never met Sir Elton but became close with Brown and his family.
Brown, who worked with Sir Elton on his first album, Empty Sky, in 1969, died last year.
White is yet to sign to a major label but with an impressive voice, she is certainly on the radar.
