Madame Butterfly Susie O’Neill has done Australia proud, again.
After American swimming champion Katie Ledecky shared an Instagram video overnight of her swimming a lap of the pool while balancing a glass of milk on her head, O’Neill decided to take on the challenge with an Australian twist.
Olympic Opening ceremonies: the good, bad and downright bizarre
The eight-time Olympic medallist rushed out to Fortitude Valley pool in Brisbane on Tuesday morning during her Nova106.9 breakfast show with Ash, Kip and Luttsy to try it out – except she swapped out the milk for a glass of Heineken Zero beer.
She also ditched the snorkel Ledecky used and held her breath during the lap of freestyle, while barely spilling a drop.
She finished the lap off in legendary fashion by sculling the breakfast beer at the end of the pool.
It has been 20 years since O’Neill, 47, won the 200m freestyle at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
