“The first time I went to the Notre Dame. I didn’t think it would be my last. Devastating news for Paris,” Ellen wrote in the caption for the video for Spell & the Gypsy clothing.
It didn’t take long before Ellen’s 839,000 followers fired up, many labelling her post inappropriate and in poor taste before she deleted the video from her Instagram.
One follower wrote: “It doesn’t have to be your last time you f***wit it’s still there”.
Nearly 200 comments followed before Ellen removed the post.
“You would try and make it about yourself,” one use wrote, while another added: “what are the odds that she didn’t go in there anyway.”
Another follower commented: “Nothing screams narcissism more than somebody somehow turning a tragedy in to a post about themselves.”
The video featured Ellen twirling in front of the camera in flowing clothes interspersed with the occasional Paris landmark.
“Where were you the day Sarah Ellen realised she couldn’t see the Notre Dame Cathedral,” wrote @darcyisrad. “That she mistakenly believed is just called ‘The Notre Dame’.”
The Daily Telegraph has reached out to Ellen for comment.
