Russell Crowe has called out a bizarre accusation that the Oscar winner had a hand double in 2002 film A Beautiful Mind.
An article by website Looper and shared by Barnard College, New York City, claimed that Crowe had a hand double to write his complex math equations on the chalkboard — Dave Bayer, a professor at the college.
The claim was first printed in The New Yorker in 2002.
As if that wasn’t offensive enough, the article also stated that in 2005 film Cinderella Man, Renée Zellweger played Crowe’s wife and demanded a body double because of Crowe’s bad breath and body odour.

This claim was said to originally have been printed in National Enquirer, however the link redirects to the Radar Online homepage.
More than 17 years later, Crowe shut down the claim on Twitter, sharing the article and calling it “utter horse sh*t”.
“Well, I’ll tell you quite simply that the story you have attached is utter horse s**t,” Crowe wrote.
“I wrote every equation on the blackboards for ABM in real time and RZ did not have a body double for kissing scenes in CM.
“If you want less horse sh*t in your life, don’t propagate it. Simple.”
Awkward.
